Swinburne is proud of its membership of 5 Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs). CRCs play an important role in the Australian innovation system, bringing together researchers and research users from universities, the public sector and business.

In addition, Swinburne is the headquarters for the Advanced Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (AMCRC) and is the Melbourne hub for the Centre for Advanced Science Technology Cooperative Research Centre (CAST CRC).
