Research Quality (ERA)

A commitment to high quality, high impact research is ingrained in Swinburne University. Swinburne aims to ensure continued improvement in all areas of research, and hence, foster the culture of research. Swinburne is also committed to being prepared for the Australian Research Council's Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative.

Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) Initiative

Developed by the Australian Research Council, the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative will assess research quality within Australia’s higher education institutions. For more information you can view the ARC Excellence in Research for Australia homepage.

The first two disciplines to be assessed will be 1) Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences; and 2) Humanities and Creative Arts. Final guidelines for Clusters 1 and 2 were released on 12 March 2009, and can be accessed through the links below. With the release of these guidelines Swinburne will be formulating an action plan for ERA which will be discussed at each Faculty's research committee meeting in April.
