Research Classification Codes
The 2008 Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC)
The 2008 Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC) is a compendium of three classifications developed specifically for the compilation of standardised research and development statistics. It comprises classifications for type of activity, field of research and socio-economic objective. Growing policy interest in areas of energy production, climate change and environmental protection, as well new fields of R&D, led to a need to update the previous classification, the Australian Standard Research Classification (ASRC). Extensive changes have been made to both the RFCDs and the SEO codes. These new codes are in use immediately.
